FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
With the goal of serving the musician’s community — both seasoned musicians as well as passionate beginners discovering their instrument — ANMIEK presents a collection of versatile and innovative instruments. These instruments have the soul of vintage basses and guitars, while adding modernity, attention to detail, and good taste — resulting in instruments with excellent tone, comfort, and class. The kind of instruments that you know are “the real deal” as soon as you hold them in your hands. Regardless of your musical style — or even if you don’t have just one — ANMIEK is the instrument you've always looked for, and we’re sure you’ll enjoy it.
What woods do you use in your basses and guitars?
For the bodies, we use Alder and Swamp Ash. These are the woods we find most versatile and valuable for the sound approach we’re offering: a mix of vintage goodness with a modern flavor. The fingerboards are made of maple, as they are solid and reliable.
What’s the difference between the PJEP, JBEA, and Studio EE basses?
Each model has certain sound shape and pickup characteristics. The descriptions of each instrument contain more details, but in general:
PJEP: Raw, fat sound. Very characteristic of the '60s and '70s, but it has made an aggressive comeback recently. The combination of a "P"-style pickup and a "J"-style pickup gives a wide range, making it suitable for many types of songs and styles. Tip: This bass is delightful with flatwound strings, though it can obviously be used with standard roundwounds as well.
JBEA: The "classic" sound used for everything from ballads to slap to rock and everything in between. The preamp we use (AMK) enhances the vintage characteristics of the pickups and wood, but also takes it to another level of power, clarity, and strength. One thing we really like about the AMK preamp is that you can use the bass in passive mode, with tone control.
STUDIO EE: Emmanuel wanted a bass with a more modern touch in both look and sound; the result is the STUDIO EE. While the pickup winding reminds one of a vintage instrument, they have a bit more warmth and fullness, making it ideal in many situations. This instrument also features our AMK preamp, which can be switched to passive mode.
LL MODEL: This is our model with Super Double pickups and the OBP-3 preamp, both by Aguilar. The addition of this model offers more variety for ANMIEK’s clients. That pickup combination could be considered a modern classic, but paired with ANMIEK’s construction and feel, it makes this model very special.
What’s the difference between an active and passive instrument?
The simplest answer is: An instrument with a preamp (short for preamplifier) has an active system. It includes an additional electronic section with an equalizer that allows you to boost or cut treble, mids, and bass frequencies. A passive instrument generally only has a tone control. An active preamp instrument can sound louder and is very useful for live settings. A passive instrument is ideal, in our opinion, for studio recordings — though of course, active instruments can also be used for recording.
What do the controls on my bass do?
PJEP: Volume - Volume - Tone
JBEA & STUDIO EE: Volume (Tone) - Pickup Balance - Treble - Mids - Bass (Switch to turn Preamp On/Off)
What should I do for maintenance of my ANMIEK bass or guitar?
Whatever instrument you have, it’s important to keep it clean and free of sweat buildup. Don’t use conventional guitar or furniture cleaners, as they can damage and crack the instrument’s finish.
Will you have guitars available?
We will be announcing the return of guitars soon.
What pickups/microphones do the instruments have?
Our instruments feature our own pickups, designed with a classic, vintage flavor to bring out the best in each instrument. The rich blend of aggressiveness and smoothness is present in all of our instruments. It’s honestly very noticeable as soon as you play it — whether it’s a bass or a guitar. The LL Model, has Aguilar’s Super Double Pickups.
What string gauges come with the basses?
4-string: 45-105
5-string: 45-120
What preamp do the ANMIEK instruments use?
As part of designing our instruments, we searched for the best pickup-preamp combination for basses. We wanted a combination that would enhance — not reduce (as some preamps do) — the vintage character of the wood and pickups, while adding the punch and volume needed for live applications. Our preamp, AMK, achieves that. The LL Model uses Aguilar’s OBP-3 preamp.
How long do the batteries last?
It depends heavily on the battery quality and how long the cable is left plugged into the input jack. We recommend using alkaline batteries (do not use rechargeable batteries, as the preamp in active instruments will not function at full capacity and could be damaged). Also, to prolong battery life, do not leave the instrument plugged in when not in use.
Where can I buy an ANMIEK instrument?
All purchases are made directly through us. We’ll be happy to help you choose the instrument you’ve been dreaming of. Why do we do it this way? We want the prices to be as low as possible and for you to have the best experience.
Do you have a distributor or representative in any city or country?
We have one in Colombia: Worship Sound. Aside from them, we do not have any other representative or distributor. We’ve heard of people pretending to be our reps — even asking for money upfront — please don’t deal with them. Write to us at ventas@anmiekinstruments.com or contact us on Instagram.

BUYING AN ANMIEK INSTRUMENT
The quality and sound of our instruments are often compared to those sold at two or three times the price we offer. We created ANMIEK to serve musicians, not to “get rich.” We want to reach as many people as possible and use part of our profits to bring help to those in need, both near and far — this is one of our company’s core values.
Since no one at ANMIEK depends on this company as their sole income, we’ve chosen to offer the best prices and give you a product that exceeds its price point.
We would love to serve you and have you as a lifelong customer, buying multiple instruments (for yourself, your band, your church, or your family — if everyone plays bass or guitar). But at the same time, we won’t pressure you into becoming our customer. Got it? So, here are a few things you should know:
Where can I buy an ANMIEK instrument?
All purchases are made directly with us. We’ll be happy to help you and assist you in choosing the instrument you’ve been dreaming of. Why do we do it this way? So we can offer you the lowest possible prices. And since we know you’ll love ANMIEK, we hope you’ll end up buying more than one. :-)
I live outside the United States. How can I buy an ANMIEK instrument?
The process varies depending on the customs laws and import duties of each country. Please contact us at ventas@anmiekinstruments.com or send us a DM on ANMIEK’s Instagram. We’re here to serve you.
Is shipping and customs included in the price of my instrument?
No. To keep our prices as low as possible while still delivering top-quality instruments, shipping and customs fees are not included in the price. Those costs will depend on your location and your country’s specific customs and import fees.
Can I pay for an instrument in installments?
Our recommendation is that you save up and buy the instrument when you have the full amount. However, for a limited time, we’re offering the option to purchase an instrument in two payments:
The first payment must be US $700.
The second payment will cover the remaining balance (which varies depending on the model
and your instrument’s specs).
This second payment must be made within 60 days of the first.
Once the full cost of the instrument has been paid, we’ll arrange to ship your bass or guitar to your address.
What happens if I can’t or decide not to pay the full amount within 60 days?
We can issue a refund minus 20% of your deposit. So from your $700 deposit, we would subtract $140 (20%), and your refund would be $560. We absolutely don’t want to take advantage of you, but we hope you understand: If we don’t sell the instrument because we’re holding it for you, and then you back out, that’s a loss for us — so this small deduction is a way to cover that risk. That’s why we strongly recommend saving the full amount before reserving, so you’re not at risk of missing the deadline.
And, what if it’s just a few extra days you need to pay the balance? Write to us! If it’s just 7 to 10 days, of course, we’ll wait for you — but communication is key.

OTHER QUESTIONS
Can you issue an invoice with a lower value so my import costs are cheaper? We can’t.
We’ve made a habit of not lying — so please don’t ask us to do that, because the answer will be... well, it was at the beginning of this response.
We have a band and are looking for a sponsorship or endorsement. What can you offer?
Unfortunately, since ANMIEK is still a young company and because we are not cutting corners on quality “to make more money” — in fact, we’re giving the best possible product at the best possible price — we don’t have the resources to give away instruments or offer large discounts. From the heart, we appreciate your understanding and support.
